In the days of the exciting and bustling summer, the Economics Student Volunteer Campaign officially returned with UEH students under the guidance and direction of the Youth Union – UEH Student Union. Green summer is one of the practical programs of the students because it is not only a long trip but also a series of social activities with great meaning. and deep humanity. Stage 1: Green Summer will take place from June 30 to July 25, 2023 on two provincial fronts (Mang Thit district, Vinh Long) and Ho Chi Minh city (Nha Be district).
Expanding scale, promoting operations in many locations
Stage 1 of the Economic Student Volunteer Campaign 2023: Green Summer this year shows even more extensive scale when there are nearly 20 main active squads in 2 provincial fronts (Mang Thit district, Vinh Long province) and city Ho Chi Minh City. For Mang Thit district, UEH volunteers will be allocated human resources into 3 clusters with 7 communes: cluster 1 (My Phuoc and Nhon Phu communes), cluster 2 (My An, Hoa Tinh and Binh Phuoc communes) and cluster 3 (Tan An Hoi and Chanh An communes). At the city front, UEH “blue shirt warriors” had the opportunity to set foot in Nha Be district (Nhon Duc, Long Thoi and Hiep Phuoc communes), Binh Chanh (Phong Phu, Tan Kien and Quy Duc communes) and District ten.

Determined to complete youth projects, build practical and effective fun and academic activities associated with the motto “taking expertise as a volunteer”
With youthfulness, dynamism, a spirit of shock and volunteering, this year’s Green Summer aims to build youth projects in all areas of activity. This is one of the key goals to affirm the scale and reach of UEH. The soldiers will carry out the construction of a safety bridge, a solar street light system to support the local implementation of enhanced new rural standards, new construction/repair of friendship houses, and construction of roads. dal street, people’s street… The youth works like waving, inviting soldiers to build, contributing to the richness and beauty of the homeland and the country. The youth project is a testament to the positive, sustainable, strong and long-term development of the locality.

This year’s campaign has also implemented and is determined to complete the project “Key works to celebrate 30 years of summer volunteer programs and campaigns of the City’s youth”, the project “Each unit implements at least 01 works; youth work on building new rural areas, improving new rural areas with the criteria “Bright – Green – Clean – Beautiful – Civilized – Safe”;
In addition, the campaign also focuses on promoting activities associated with promoting the expertise of soldiers, and at the same time, practical support for local needs in areas such as: dissemination of knowledge about entrepreneurship. ; technology application capacity, digital transformation in activities; legal propaganda; support in handling administrative procedures; support to improve foreign language ability; develop comprehensive soft skills for local youth… And yet, the campaign is also creative, organizing cultural and artistic exchange programs and activities on a scale from commune to cluster level. Children and young children will learn and learn a lot of useful knowledge integrated through entertaining and fun games. The squads also maintain activities to give gifts to policy families, clean up martyrs’ cemetery, pick up trash around the area where people live, etc. Since then, the campaign has brought many colors and nurtures. adding material and spiritual life to children with unfortunate conditions – actively completing the project “Accompanying the comprehensive development of youth and children”.

Green summer – a place to save an enthusiastic youth
Leaving the bustling, modern city to come to the rural areas with some hardships must be an extremely interesting experience for the green summer soldiers. In addition to the familiar images of a beanie hat, a bandana or a volunteer blue shirt, the memory of a green summer is also a bond of affection and sharing between people who share the same enthusiasm. The days participating in the volunteer campaign are the days when the soldiers work together, eat together, rest together, and live together.
We help each other in all difficulties, worry and take care of each other when the weather turns windy, have fun together after hard working sessions or late-night meetings, then talk and laugh without getting bored. We see each other as brothers and sisters, like friends with the same ideals and enthusiasm. Those are definitely precious and touching moments that our student days are hard to forget.
